Why a pendant patch moves search volume at all
Because Soul Pendants and Soul Jades are build components, not cosmetics. In a co-op roguelite the build is the content: a new modifier means every existing weapon and character has a new interaction to test, and the community rediscovers combinations it had already settled.
The route expansion matters for the same reason in reverse. Run-based games decay when players learn the optimal path; adding routes resets that knowledge without touching combat balance. It is the cheapest possible way to make a familiar game feel unsolved again, and it is why studios keep reaching for it.
The honest caveat
This is an incremental update to a game that has been out for years, and the studio’s own patch notes for August were mostly bug fixes. If you bounced off Gunfire Reborn before, two pendants and a route will not change your mind. The update is for players already in Season 8, not a reason to start.
