Here is a pitch you do not hear often: what if tanks fought using martial arts? That is the entire premise of Tank Fu, an experimental character action game from Knight Owl Games that is now in pre-alpha playtest.
Bayonetta, but the character is a tank
The developers cite Bayonetta and Hi-Fi RUSH as direct inspirations, and they built a prototype with over 16 moves for a vehicle that has absolutely no business performing any of them. Your tank dashes, flies, and punches. Enemy shells get parried by tilting the hull at the right moment.
Scoring rewards variety
Score accumulates as long as you keep your streak alive and vary your moves, so the game actively punishes finding two good combos and spamming them. That is a deliberate design choice to push players deeper into the moveset.
Early days, openly stated
Knight Owl Games is upfront that this is a pre-alpha playtest and that every aspect of the game is open to change. That kind of honesty is worth noting — this is a prototype being tested in public, not a finished product.
