Ribbit Rogue is a turn-based deck-building roguelike in which the deck is made of dice. Each die carries six faces with their own actions and abilities, and Steam describes pairing those faces with relics found during a run to build attack combos, all while fighting to reclaim a swamp from the corruption that has overtaken it.
Chart credential: Ribbit Rogue debuted at #48 on the Steam 250 seven-day chart for the week of 7 September 2026, with a 6.98 score from 30 reviews at 97% positive, after releasing on 3 September 2026.
Key features
A hard cap of ten dice slots
You hold ten dice at once, so every acquisition is also a removal. Card-based roguelikes have a well-known failure mode where decks bloat and the strongest card gets drawn less often the more you win; a fixed slot count makes thinning automatic rather than a separate mechanic you have to remember to use. Every pickup is a real decision from the first fight onward.
A forge that edits die faces directly
The forge upgrades individual sides, or swaps sides between two dice. This is the part that distinguishes dice-building from card-drafting: a card is atomic and you either take it or you do not, but a die is six separate decisions bundled together. Being able to rewrite one face means a die that is 80% right becomes usable instead of being discarded, which widens what counts as a viable run.
Randomness you shape rather than suffer
Because faces are editable and relics stack with them, variance becomes something you narrow across a run. That is the honest answer to the usual complaint about dice games — that outcomes feel unearned. Here the roll stays random, but the range it rolls within is the thing you have been building all game.
