MEAT TRAIN is an open-world zombie survival game where you operate a train that runs on meat. You are a slave working for an AI factory, hitting a daily meat quota and earning points on performance. Scavenge the wasteland for weapons, break crates for ammo, scrap and upgrades, and eventually destroy GRM, the rogue AI that has enslaved what is left of humanity — or be a good employee and collect meat forever.
Steam 250 weekly chart: #26 on the Top 50 Games of the Past Week, scored 7.24 from 86 reviews at 92% positive, released 21 October 2026. Chart position via Steam 250.
Key features
A quota instead of a health bar
The failure condition is missing your daily meat quota or breaking a rule, which gets you labelled a rebel and hunted. Replacing survival pressure with employment pressure is what gives the game its argument: the zombies are a workplace hazard, and the thing actually trying to kill you is your performance review.
The train as a mobile base that eats its own fuel source
Your vehicle runs on the same resource you are sent to harvest. That loop means every trip is a calculation about how far you can go before the thing carrying you needs feeding, which turns map exploration into a genuine risk rather than a traversal step.
Run-based loot with permanent upgrades
Every run starts with nothing, and the more dangerous the location the better the loot. Separating per-run gear from permanent train upgrades is what lets a survival game stay tense after twenty hours: you never stop being vulnerable, but you do keep getting further.
