Key features

Farkle already contains the roguelike decision

Most dice roguelikes have to invent a reason to stop rolling. Farkle does not: banking points or rolling again is the whole game, and busting wipes the round. Building a deckbuilder on top of a push-your-luck game that already has a fail state means the run economy and the core loop are the same decision, which is why it reads as tighter than dice games that bolt risk on afterwards.

43 Synergies are the deck, 35 dice are the cards

The dice do the work a card pool normally does. Because each die is a persistent object rather than a one-shot play, a synergy you assemble in tavern two is still shaping probability in tavern six — so the build decisions compound instead of resetting, and a bad early pick is felt for the length of the run.

Thirty named opponents give the difficulty curve a shape

Six taverns with thirty distinct rivals means progression is measured in opponents beaten rather than a rising number. That matters for a luck-based game: attributing a loss to a specific rival’s behaviour is more legible than attributing it to a difficulty multiplier, and it keeps a run from feeling arbitrary when the dice go cold.
