Members do not come back. Every level, every piece of equipment and every trait you cultivated leaves with them. That is what makes the colony half matter: you are not building a base for its own sake, you are protecting a payroll you cannot replace quickly.

Real-time with pause, and no round limit

Combat has no turns or round cap. You read enemy traits and patterns and outmanoeuvre them, which means fights are won by preparation and positioning rather than by a damage race. The developers describe it as hardcore strategy and mean it.

People built from race, background and personality

Each member carries six major abilities, dozens of combat and life stats, and traits drawn from race, background and personality — a curious Lizardman with a drifter’s past, for example. Recruitment is therefore a genuine decision rather than a numbers check.
