Winter. New Year Eve. A night kiosk. This is where 27-year-old Matvey works, serving all kinds of customers — familiar faces and wandering strangers alike. On the other side of the window their stories unfold: about good and bad, life and death, how Vitya cheated on Masha, and how the building on Stroiteley Street is once again without hot water.
I Have No Change is a first-person narrative game from Studio Rassvet, set entirely within the atmosphere of a night kiosk in regional Russia.
Key features
The characters are real actors, not 3D models
This is what makes the game visually striking. Rather than modelling faces, the developers recorded professional actors on camera, colour-graded the raw footage, imported it into the engine, and sliced it into separate animations. The result is 100% full motion video for the characters.
It is a modern revival of the technique behind the original Mortal Kombat, and it produces photorealistic faces without the rendering cost of trying to model them.
A story that stays small on purpose
A quiet, personal drama about stagnation, lost dreams and fragile hopes. Matvey spends the festive nights alone with his thoughts, asking how he ended up in this kiosk, whether he ever dreamed of this life, and whether he is ready for change.
Everyone who visits has their own story
Most characters arrive with something of their own — warm, melancholic, or quietly reflective. The kiosk window is the frame through which an entire neighbourhood passes.
Local music, local place
The soundtrack features music and songs by local artists, chosen to deepen the sense of place rather than simply score the scenes.
