DETAILS

  • Studio: Barji
  • Genre: Action
  • Platform: PC, Steam
  • Status: Released

Burg Tag is a fast-paced online multiplayer game of tag built around movement. Wall kick, swing, slide and roll through colourful maps and do whatever it takes to escape your friends — or tag them. Both roles share the same movement set, with powerups unlocking new ways to get around. Once a hider is caught they join the seekers, doubling the chance of catching someone. There is a time trial mode if you have no friends available.

Steam 250 weekly chart: #41 on the Top 50 Games of the Past Week, up +2 places, scored 6.96 from 57 reviews at 89% positive, released 22 October 2026. Chart position via Steam 250.

Key features

Both roles share one movement set

Hiders and seekers have identical mobility. Asymmetric chase games usually hand one side a speed advantage and then spend patches rebalancing it; giving both sides the same tools means the skill gap is the only gap, and a chase stays close because the players are matched rather than because the numbers are tuned.

Caught hiders convert to seekers

Once tagged, you join the hunt. Snowballing the seeker side deliberately gives every round a built-in clock: it will end, and it will end faster as it goes, which removes the stalemate problem that kills most hide-and-seek games after a few matches.

A time trial for empty lobbies

Small multiplayer games die when nobody is online. Shipping a solo time trial against the same movement system means the mechanics stay practiceable with an empty server, which is the difference between a player uninstalling and coming back when friends are around.

Where to find it

Burg Tag is on Steam for $4.24, developed and published by Barji. English only, with online PvP, colour alternatives and adjustable difficulty.
