Atooi is the independent studio founded by Jools Watsham, who co-founded Renegade Kid — the developer behind the original Dementium: The Ward and Dementium II on Nintendo DS. Atooi brought Dementium II to PC in October 2026, where it charted at #14 on the Steam 250 weekly list with a 96% positive rating from 146 reviews.

The studio self-publishes on Steam. Its work on Dementium II is a restoration rather than a remake: the 2010 handheld game rebuilt for PC with the design compromises that DS hardware forced — most visibly the choice between holding a flashlight or a weapon — lifted.
