DETAILS
- Studio: Chucklefish
- Genre: RPG
- Platform: PC, Steam
- Status: Coming Soon
Witchbrook is a magic-school life sim for up to four players, and after a delay to 2026 it is still the most wishlisted cozy game without a date.
You arrive in Mossport as the newest resident witch, enrol at Witchbrook College, and work through an academic year of classes, assignments, friendships and seasonal festivals.
Status: listed as 2026 on Steam, still marked coming soon. Developed by Chucklefish with Robotality, and published by Chucklefish.
Key features
Four-player co-op in a life sim
Witchbrook supports up to four players. That is unusual for the genre — most cozy life sims are solo or two-player affairs, because shared worlds complicate the daily schedule every one of them is built on.
Doing it at four means the town has to stay coherent while four people run their own calendars through it, which is the hardest technical promise in the whole pitch and the main thing to watch when it ships.
Townsfolk with their own schedules
Mossport’s residents work shifts, drink at the pub, cram in the college library and turn out for seasonal events. The world is described as running whether or not you are watching.
This is the Stardew lineage showing — a town is only worth living in if it carries on without you, and that is what separates a life sim from a task list with villagers attached.
An academic year as the structure
You build magical ability by attending classes, completing assignments and expanding your knowledge at the college. Progression is tied to a school calendar rather than to a skill tree, and the seasons visibly change the town as the year turns.
What is still unknown
No release date, no price, and no confirmed platforms beyond Windows on the Steam page. Witchbrook was announced years ago and was delayed out of 2025 into 2026, so treat any specific date you see elsewhere with suspicion until Chucklefish confirms it.
Worth saying plainly: this is a wishlist, not a purchase. Everything above comes from the store page and the developers’ own material, and none of it has been played at length by the press.
