James Muirhead is the solo developer and publisher of Grease Trap '99, a mystery horror takeaway simulator set in a 1999 Scottish fish and chip shop. It entered the Steam 250 weekly chart as a new entry at #50 in October 2026 with a 100% positive rating from its first 15 reviews.

The notable decision in his work is linguistic: Grease Trap '99 is fully voice acted in Scottish Gaelic, with English or Gaelic subtitles, making it one of very few commercial Steam releases built around the language rather than localised into it.
