Two stories that interrogate each other

The Resort and the Facility run in parallel, and the store page ends on the question of whether they are even the same world. Twin narratives are common; what makes this structure work is that each half reframes the other’s tone. Resort busywork reads as satire until the Facility makes the stakes literal, and the Facility’s isolation reads differently once you know someone is still taking drink orders.

Service work as the core loop

At the Resort you race the clock to rank up and earn equipment against guests’ never-ending demands — while the sun is days from swallowing the world. Building an adventure game on shift work is a deliberate friction: the player wants to investigate, and the game keeps handing them a job. That gap is the point of the satire rather than a pacing mistake.

Choices with no clean option

In the Facility, the store page poses exterminating a parasite to preserve the station’s work at the cost of your own survival. Presenting the decision this baldly, rather than as a morality slider, is what keeps the second half from reading as a walking simulator with a twist.
