Golden Swirl

DETAILS

Golden Swirl is a dark fantasy deckbuilder that runs in semi-real time. You build a deck, equip relics and plan a route through the abyss, but you survive the fights by moving and dodging — the timing of every card you play also repositions you and changes your attack vectors. The full release carries four characters with their own starting relics and card pools, over 100 relics, 120 cards and a rune system on top, and it is fully voiced.

Chart credential: new entry at #23 on the Steam 250 seven-day chart, scoring 7.28 from 277 reviews. Released 9 September 2026.

Key features

Cards that cost you position, not just energy

Playing a card moves you. That single rule is what makes the semi-real-time framing more than a gimmick: a strong card at the wrong moment puts you in a bad spot, so deck quality stops being the only thing that decides a fight. Turn-based deckbuilders can only simulate that pressure with timers.

Three-layer builds: cards, relics, runes

Over 100 relics and 120 cards combine with card runes, which is a deliberately wide combination space for a genre where most runs converge on the same two or three strategies by the third act. The runes are the layer that keeps a familiar card pool from resolving into a solved deck.

Four characters with separate card pools

Each of the four characters starts with its own relics and its own cards rather than a shared pool with a different portrait. That is the difference between four playthroughs and one playthrough repeated — the route-planning problem changes when the tools do.
