SmashCore is a short, physics-based incremental game about smashing asteroids into dust with a gravity cursor and feeding the dust to a hungry Core. You spend the proceeds in a large skill tree, upgrade your gravitational powers, and push deeper into space to find ancient technology and new ores. It is developed and published by Braian.
Chart credential: #32 on the Steam 250 best games of the week chart, up +14 places, with a score of 7.17 from 48 reviews. Released 7 September 2026.
Key features
No health bars — collisions physically remove chunks
Asteroids are destroyed by real geometry rather than by depleting a number. That changes what an upgrade feels like: more gravity means visibly larger pieces coming off per hit, so the progression is legible without reading a stat. Incremental games usually have to display their growth; this one shows it.
The gravity cursor makes idle input active
You are dragging mass around, not clicking a button. Attaching the core loop to a physics tool means skill and positioning affect throughput, which gives an incremental game a reason to be played with hands on rather than left running.
Deliberately short, and priced accordingly
The developer describes it as a short experience, and it sells for $3.74. That is the honest framing for the genre: most incrementals overstay by padding the final tiers, and a game that names its length up front is one you can finish rather than abandon.
