One button, which is the whole design constraint

Press, hold and release is the complete input vocabulary. This matters more than it sounds: with one button there is no positioning and no aiming, so every upgrade has to change timing rather than options. That forces the build system to be about feel instead of coverage, and it is why the game reads as immediately playable to someone who has never touched a roguelike.

Ten upgrade cards that stack rather than replace

Levelling offers three random power-ups from a pool of ten, and upgrades combine instead of overwriting. Ten cards is a small pool by roguelike standards, and the reason it works is combinatorial: stacking and interaction generate the variety that a longer card list would otherwise have to supply, which is the same trick Vampire Survivors runs.

Procedural animation doing the heavy lifting

Scarlet is animated by combining dozens of hand-made animations with logic-driven procedural movement in Unreal, so she reacts to the state of the run rather than playing fixed clips. In a game with one input and no scenery to speak of, the character is the entire visual interest, and readable movement is what tells you a jump went well before the score does.

Scarlet Skips is on Steam for $4.99, with no discount at the time of writing. Steam lists Windows only, English only, keyboard-only and mouse-only options, and partial controller support. It carries a general mature content notice for suggestive themes and revealing clothing. It is single-player.
