A deckbuilder where you never play a card — the deck plays itself and you only build it.
Grail is a PvP autobattler deckbuilder from the Sokpop Collective. You upgrade, enchant and sticker your cards between fights, then watch the battle resolve on its own against monsters or another player.
Chart credential: #15 on the Steam 250 seven-day chart (down 5 places), score 7.45 from 194 reviews. Released September 1, 2026.
Key features
Removing the play phase forces the design phase to carry everything
In a normal deckbuilder a strong player can rescue a mediocre deck through sequencing. Grail deletes that option. If the run goes badly the deck was wrong, which makes every upgrade, enchantment and sticker a decision with visible consequences fifteen seconds later.
Runs of 15 to 45 minutes, and PvP as the difficulty ceiling
Runs are short by design, and the opponents are other players climbing the same ladder. That solves the usual autobattler problem of a fixed difficulty curve: the ceiling rises with the population rather than with a stat multiplier.
250-plus cards, 100-plus traits, unlocked by playing
Multiple characters each carry their own card pool and playstyle, and all characters and cosmetics unlock through play rather than purchase. Lore unlocks are tied to winning with different cards, which is a quiet nudge towards trying pools you would otherwise skip.
Where to find Grail
Windows and macOS. No Linux build listed.
